NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME
In the month of December 2008, our college made its first step in NSS. NSS is unique in its activities of bringing out the budding talents of students by way of Community service, Creating awareness, integrating their technical skills for rural development and molding new rural entrepreneurs. At present, Our College has One NSS unit comprising of 100 Volunteers.
THE NSS MOTTO
The Motto of National Service Scheme is “Not Me But You”. The main aim of NSS is personality development of students through community service.

|1||International Day of Yoga||Our institution has conducted International Day of Yoga on June 21, 2017. In this occasion the various yogic postures were demonstrated by Mrs.A.Swarnambigai, Physical Director, Bharathiyar Institute of Engineering for Women. She initially explained about the physical and spiritual advantages of performing yoga to the NSS volunteers. Some of the asanas performed are vajrasana, padmasana, dhanurasana, Padangusthasana and shavasana. NSS volunteers also performed those asanas.||
|2||Dengue Awareness Program||Our institution has conducted Dengue Awareness Program on July 22, 2017. In this session Mr.P.Selvam, Health Inspector, Thalaivasal PHC also was present as a delegate. He illustrated the causes and prevention of dengue fever and urged the people to take precaution steps by eradicating the stagnation of open fresh water in and around our locality.||
|3||Door canvassing on Dengue Awareness||A team of 50 volunteers along with Mrs.Mahalakshmi, Health Inspector, NSS Programme Officer and Staff Coordinators went for door canvassing to Sathasivapuram and Sarvoyputhur. Our volunteers have split into two teams having 25 volunteers each. Initially Mrs.Mahalakshmi, Health Inspector gave instructions to the volunteers regarding dengue and how to educate people and make them aware of the consequences of Dengue. Followed by this, the volunteers went for door canvassing and informed the household women about the cause had effects of Dengue. Anti larval work was carried out by NSS Volunteers in which they cleared the water bearing larvae. Volunteers visited nearly 100 households for Dengue Awareness and urged the people to take precaution steps by eradicating the stagnation of open fresh water in and around their locality.||
|4||Oratorical competiton on Youth Awakening Day||On the event of commemorating birth anniversary of Dr.A.P.J.Abdulkalam, Youth Awakening Day was conducted. In this occassion an Oratorical competition was conducted for the NSS Volunteers based on the topic “ Life of Missile Man towards an Developed Nation”. Students represented their thought provoking views toward nation development and various contributions of Dr.A.P.J.AbdulKalam for it. NSS Volunteers also deliberately insisted for following his footsteps as mentioned by him to achieve the Vision 2020. The finalization for oration was done by two Staff co-ordinators namely Ms.S.K.Sujitha and Ms.M.Gomathi, AP/ECE.||
|5||Awareness program on Food safety and Food security||Awareness Program on Food Safety and Food Security was given by Mr.M.Munusamy, Food Security Officer, Thalaivasal. He provided a brief speech on the quality and purity of food materials, some primary food substances, value of prescribed standards and constituents. He also explained about the precautions that are supposed to follow in order to prevent adulteration in food substances. In this regard, an interaction session was also conducted in which the students were also asked to share their views and thoughts about advanced food safety and security mechanism.||

Accessible India Campaign
It’s an Awareness for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs).
It was conducted in the presence of Mrs.M.Purasolia, ICTC councellor, Mrs. S.PoornaSelvi, ICTC Lab Technician, Gangavalli and Mrs.K,Sharatha, ICTC counselor, Thalaivasal.
Mrs.M.Purasolia emphasized the various challenges faced by disabled persons in everyday life and some ways through which they can make the society easily accessible in terms of transport and sanitary issues.
